How to play

Each round names five places, from two that are easy to find to one that is not. Turn the globe, tap where you think the place is, and lock it in. Once a pin is locked it cannot be moved.

Drag to turn the globe. Pinch, or use the two buttons, to zoom. On a keyboard the arrow keys turn it, plus and minus zoom, and Enter places your pin at the centre mark.

A pin on the spot is worth 100 points and the score falls away with distance: about 90 at 500 km, 50 at 3,000 km, and close to nothing on the far side of the world. Five places make a round of up to 500. Everyone gets the same five, and a new round arrives at midnight. Among players with the same points, the faster round is ahead.

The places are capitals and large cities from Natural Earth, a public domain map of the world, and so is the globe.
